Subject: Problems with Windows and latency
Content: I'm working with a new laptop which had vista 64 installed and I've run into some problems that I thought would be a good idea to share with you here. First of all the 64 bit operating system doesn't work for some audio programs and it is necisary to downgrade to a 32 bit operating system. That is a pain in the... well it's a bitch. After I did that I realized that I still had latency issues and it also seemed like Kontact just didn't work properly on my computer. last night a friend of mine found a solution for me. The solution was an asio driver for my computer. You don't need to buy an asio sound card to improve your computer's ability to run recording software. http://www.asio4all.com/ check out this site and download the latest version. This should fix a lot of the latency issues I've found using cubase, reason, and Kontact. Good luck. Cotter
