What is the meaning of it all? Is it fame, fortune, friends, love, money, happiness........? No ; life has such a much greater meaning than theses material things, that with time all fade away . King Solomon, one of the most rich and wise kings in existence said in ECCLESIASTES 1:2" The greatest vanity! Everything is vanity. " The word Vanity means , meaningless. So King Solomon stated that everything in life is meaningless. If you read the whole book of Ecclesiastes you will have a better understaning of what he means.
Though he was rich and wise and did not deny himself anything that his eyes desired, he felt as if every pleasure in his life (love, things gained from hardwork, riches, land, women, wine, youth, and money) was meaningless because he understood that we are all bound to death and will be forgotten. Wether you are rich or poor wise or stupid or successful or unfortunate we all have the same fate. Death. Solomon said everything in life was meaningless because he was tormented by the fact that everything he worked hard for he had to give up when he died, and every pleasure he felt was lost when his body withered and could no longer feel anything. This is why my friends we should store our treasures in heaven.
Everything you live for is meaningless because one day you will lose it all no matter how precious it is to you. The only true and pure thing that is worth holding on to is your salvation. Though you are rich now you will have to give it all away in death. Though you are the most famous person in the world you will eventually be forgotten because we are only remembered by those who remember us, and the world will not last forever. Though you can have kind and loving friends eventually you will die and lose them all. Though you may love someone with every amount of yourself eventually they will die and even the person you marry and spend your who life with, will only be bound to you untill death. Though you can live life for every pleasure in the world eventually you will die and will not be able to feel the feeling of life anymore.
The salvation of your soul is the treasure you should store in heaven because that is what will last for all eternity . Everything in life is vane without the direction of God. I hope this page can help you find a better understanding of what is truly worth living for. Do you want to live a vane life and then perish into the lake of fire? or would you rather submit yourself in completeness to God, so that he can bless you with spirtual fruits, peace, wisdom, salvation, and an eternity in the kingdom of heaven. Life may sometimes be hard, but remember what you are living for and that will help you get a long way. What God has placed on this Earth can not be more wonderful than the things in heaven .
